Photographers: David Lindner, Carlo Cipriani, Kyo Morishima

About the Studio

What you can expect from David and his photographers is artistic and exciting work that reflects not only talent but experience and knowledge.  Their style is distinctly modern, but transcends all vogues of the moment.  Their emphasis is on heart felt expressiveness and visual beauty.

The Lindner Studio has been one of New York’s premier studios for over thirty years. Located in Chelsea, the atmosphere is sunny and relaxed.  The staff are all photographers or artists and are intelligent and caring people.  Experts at what they do, they  are devoted to helping our clients through the process of all their photography needs.

David Lindner

David Lindner comes from four generations of professional photographers.  The medium is in his blood. His mentor was Philippe Halsman, the legendary Life magazine cover photographer. David opened his studio in 1977.  With grants in the arts, he specialized in dance, theater, portraiture, and published the magazine Dance Life.  As a photographer, David’s subjects have ranged broadly: from the President of the United States (congressmen, governors and mayors, too) to school children; from gangsters to firefighters; from the world’s greatest ballet dancers to tango pros to jazz dancers and musicians; from boxers to circus performers; from rock stars and celebrities to performers from virtually all over the world.

Carlo Cipriani

Carlo Cipriani is the principal photographer, after David, for The Lindner Studio.  He began taking pictures 25 years ago in Italy to help finance his engineering degree, but soon realized that his passion for photography far outweighed that course of study. With his talent and technical intelligence, he was soon shooting fashion and advertising spreads, and opened his own studio in Rome.

Kyo Morishima

Kyo Morishima is a man with an exciting past.  After a period as a race car driver in Japan, he came to the USA to attend (and graduate from) the prestigious Corcoran Gallery’s College of Art and Design in Washington, DC.  Along with his concentration in documentary photography, he learned photojournalism from the White House Press Photographers and worked at the Washington Post as assistant photo editor.  He moved to NYC and started working for The Lindner Studio in 2001.  We prize him as one of the best wedding photojournalists in town.
